Dew Tour and The Healing Field 2011

On Thursday the Boys and I went to the Dew Tour to watch some of the skateboarding qualifiers and their practicing. It was really cool to see them just doing freestyle stuff and showing off for each other, I think it was better than the actual competitions (At least for the boys and I who have no clue what all the technical stuff is for it).

Outside of the Arena they had a course set up for kids to ride bikes on so Brenden and Bridger did the course and Bracken and I watched, we all had a lot of fun.

Bridger so determined to finish the course..

Then on Sunday we took the boys to the Healing Field and told them a little about 9-11

All of the flags from the 2996 people who died on the day, they each had a tag attached with the person's name, age and a little bit about them (made it more real).

The New Memorial statue.

It was really good to take my boys to the healing field, they understood how sad it was that this happened to innocent people, and now they will remember these people who were heroes and had this horrific thing happen to them before they were even born.
